Can I use the OpenHolidays API free of charge?

Yes, the OpenHolidays API project is open data, its use is free of charge and also permitted in commercial projects. All data comes from public sources and is documented under Data Sources (divided into Americas, Europe). The processed data is licensed under the ODC Open Database Licence (ODbL).

Where is the OpenHolidays API hosted?

The OpenHolidays API web service runs on a Linux server operated by the German internet service provider STRATO. The data centre is located in Germany.

Where does the data come from?

All data from the OpenHolidays API project comes from public sources and is documented Data Sources (divided into Americas, Europe). The processed data is available under the ODC Open Database Licence (ODbL).

How often is the data updated?

The data from the OpenHolidays API project is updated on an ongoing basis. The current status of the data is always documented in the change log.
